I have gun with all three blind, hinged floorplate and mag.
I like them all but i prefer mag or floorplate over blind.

Hinged floor plate would be my first choice ,then a blind box . I have just never cared for detachable magazines ,I have seen to many of them with problems .

I like the hinged floor plates. I don't want any rifle with a detachable magazine, too much chance to lose it at the most inopportune time.

Up to a year ago, I had a 50%/50% split in rifles with a drop plate or magazine. I've since sold all but one rifle that has a drop plate.

I find magazines easier to load, never had a problem with them falling out of the firearm, no feeding problems and I usually carry a loaded spare while I'm hunting.

Its all about preference, options and the way one hunts.

JMHO,But I lke the drop plate.Less removable parts .Less stuff to keep up with .It can never be to simple.

i love the way my browning a-bolt medallion is. just like everyone else. i have lost one magazine out of my savage scout one year during hunting.
but this one not being brought up. i like the blind magazine myself.no fuss in loosing a magazine but a pain to extrac every round out.

As far as I'm concerned, the detach mag is just for fun, and a floorplate is more practical. If it's in a rifle where you'd need to load fast, then I like detach mags, but basically I only use my detach mags when I'm plinking with my SKS or when I'd rather use it instead of a handgun for home defense, or in a pistol, which I have because I'd need to load fast and shoot faster.

As far as hunting goes, when are you going to need 5 shots, let alone another full mag?? In benchrest, you aren't going to be pulling rounds fast enough to warrant the need for that quick of reload, and that basically leaves plinking, which it's really handy to have detach for.

BTW, I find that feeding and accuracy is usually better with floorplate designs, since there are fewer moveable parts and less to go wrong.

I like detatable mags but i do have 2 rifles with drop floorplates.I like being able to drop the mag out when i get out of the stand or getting in and out of the truck,the drop floorplate is a pain when you are in and out of the truck or in the stand.
