Well this year since I sold my 30/30 I have a Ruger 7mm rem mag and a 12 gauge that I use for turkey....I know it says on the gun not to use slugs....but which one would you use and what dangers are there using that gun with the warning on it?

I'd use the 7mm mag. Why wouldn't you?

Im guessing you have a Mossberg 835. I have herd of the slugs turning sideways and getting stuck in the barrel. I was also told they dont have the power that they would normally have because of the overbored barrel lets the gasses escape around the slug. I bought a slug barrel for mine for $145and putthe scope on it i had on my 22 mag. It works well.

I wouldn't do anything with a firearm that has a warning stamped on the barrel not to do. Just a thought.

I can't see ANY reason other than legal NOT to use the 7mm.
