RE: Is there a "good cheap" bolt .22 rifle?

It's not a bolt gun, but I picked up a used stainless Ruger 10/22 for 80, installed a GM barrel, Boyds stock, and a Volq hammer/sear set, with a total cost of about 440...it'll shoot 1/2" groups quite readily. I put it together for a younger cousin to squirrel hunt with, but it shot so well I stole it back after he got tired of it.:D
