browning blr vs. remington 7600
i am doing some research on these two rifles because they are very appealing to me and i am saving for a new rifle. i want a pump rifle because i don't have one and i have heard great things about the 7600. on the other hand, i really like lever actions and the blr looks like a great gun with lots of cartridges to choose from. i have been thinking on getting a .308 and both these rifles have this cartridge. so if anybody has had any expierience with any 2 of these rifles, feel free to share your expieriences. thanks!

I have a Remington 7600 in a .243 caliber. I absolutley adore it. The pump is so smooth and that allows you to follow up shots in miliseconds. Mine came with some beautiful engraving on it, a scene with bear on one side and a scene with deer on the other. It is an awesome rifle, i shot a buck with it last year. I shot it once and i thought i had missed, it didnt go 10 feet before i was able to put another bullet into it because of the speed of the follow up. Turns out the first shot went straight through the lungs and the second did the same. I would recommend this rifle to anyone, just toss a leupold on it and you'll be made.

It all depends on what you want to compare..anyone who thinks that the 760's are not accurate is dreaming..I've owned a few in my time and have seen many more on the bench and they are for the most part very accurate in most of their calibers...as far as the BLR...owned one for 6 months..and it was the last...nice rifle, great detail but not a 760 in my opinion..

I like the bLr better myself and see little difference in speed of reload with a slight edge going to pump. Another thing to think about is when firing from shoulder is bLr will have bolt looking like it's guna hit your eyeball whereas the remington has consealed hammer/bolt.

I use a 7600 in .30-06. It has been a great rifle. It is accurate and allows quick follow-up shots. The pump action has a very natural feel to it and becomes almost reflexive.
The pump action is also a nice novelty for a rifle - I had to show a Game Officer how to work the action last year when he asked to check if it was unloaded.

Remington synthetic stocks are not very good. It you go with Rem. you will want to change the stock out for an after market one.
