A good decent rifle especially for the money. I don't own one but have shot a couple. My favorite being a .308 which shot very well. Here's their link....

Honestly, one of my favorite rifles. Just under the Savage 10FP in .308. The Howa M1500 Varminter has almost everything I want in a rifle but for much less than the Remington 700 PSS that I almost got. Dont know about all of them but mine was just as accurate out of the box as any other rifle I have shot/owned. One of my local Walmarts carries them for 389.00 (Howa M1500 Bl/SS .308 win 24" heavy barrel, 5+1 in chamber).
Like TScott said, for the money.....I'll buy another one or two..lol

Pick up a copy of Complete Rifleman. There is a very informative article in there titled Bargain Bolt Actions. I havn't shot one but from looking at and handling them in the stores they look and feel very well made and have a nice fit to them also.

I use a Howa-1500 Legacy modle it has a laminated wood thumbhole stock and stainless barrel mine is in cal. 22-250. I can only say good things about this rifle and highly recommend it to anyone shopping for similar. This is my winter yote hunting rifle it replaces a Encore in the same caliber that had a bullbarrel and I would not want it back this Howa rifle can handle weather extremes much better than my T/C encore. Howa's trigger and action for this rifle is one of the best I have seen in a factory rifle in a long time its a shame USA manufacturer's that do produce the same quality in their rifle expect the consumer to cough up alot more $$$.
