RE: What .270 Bullet for Black Bear
Go 150 grain Winchester ballistic silvertip or the Federal Premium
150 grain Nosler Partition.Very accurate and will flat put em down. Mike :D |
RE: What .270 Bullet for Black Bear
I would guess that the 270 would be in the top 4 or five all time game getters in centerfire rifles. Along with the 30-30, 30-06 375 H&H 303 British,45-70 and the 7x57. More recently add the 243 and 308.

RE: What .270 Bullet for Black Bear
ORIGINAL: James B I would use the 150 or 160 grain Partition bullet. However even a good 130 grain bullet like the Partition or Barnes TXS will do the job on Black Bears. I also wouldn't hesitate to use the 150 Grain Hornady interlock. |
RE: What .270 Bullet for Black Bear
All my hunting rifles are in .270 except one in 30-06

RE: What .270 Bullet for Black Bear
ORIGINAL: cdhunt 270 ain't good for killin much, unless you believe o'conner, and he's dead. Use the 150-grain Nosler partition. Load them with an accurate load that gives you+-2800 FPS MV. The bears will die. if you get the bullet into their chest cavity, that is. |
RE: What .270 Bullet for Black Bear
I'll pass the info along to my buddy.

RE: What .270 Bullet for Black Bear
What has already been said. Any good bullet 150 gr out of a 270 will be more than enough for a black bear.
