i have both a leupold VX-II 2-7X33mm and a variX-II 3-9X40mm. i really don't see a differance besides F.O.V. as far as shots out to 300yds the X9 power helps but praxctice practice practice helps just as well.

While I've never found that there was a cooresponding quality to price difference in scopes.....the optics is another thing.....
Luepold makes a compact 3-9 that is the lightest scope I could find for my featherweight rifle. You might want to look at other factors than the power of the scope....maybe weight, coatings, who knows!!

Quilly, that's one of the fun parts about guns, we all have a different priority.....and one of mine is weight......hey man...we all get to spend our money our own way.....and that's great!!

Vapodog I have always considered power ,clarity and reliability ,but can't honestly say weight never entered my mind. You have given me a great arguement for a new scope the ones I have are to heavy . Thank you . <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
