I dont see why it wouldnt work at only 15-25 yards. The .32 has plenty of power at reasonable distances, it is just not known for getting out there and touching things with any great deal of accuracy.

Back in the late '80's I went to Canada bear hunting with a .32 Special. I took one at 5 yd. over bait. Dropped instantly. He never twitched. You can't kill them any deader. He was 13 yr's old and the skull was over 12" long.

Either will be fine.I have my Grandfather's 1894 long barrel 38-55 and want to wack a moose with it for nostalgic purposes. My Grandpa on my mother's side owned a .32 Special short saddle ring carbine as his only big game rifle and a distant Uncle was one of the first settlers in Peace River [Northern Alberta]ran a trapline and carried a .32 Special.Shot one grizzly with it that was hanging around the cabin and it pretty much died on the 6th shot with it's head between his boots so that turned him off shooting grizzlies.Probably needed clean underwear after that experience!.......Harold
