my cousin had one. i shot it. fairly accurate, but i kicked like a mule due to the stock. it had a ramline stock that was hollow and light. o it was a 7mm mag. the kick caused him to miss 2 really big deer. at 250 yards. he said the rifle was off, but we shot it and it hit right where he was aiming. So he got rid of it. and the action messed up once on him. forget what happened and the action was really loud due to the hollow stock

I have a MarkX that is a very nice rifle. This one is a 270. One day soon it will be wearing a Rosewood laminate thumbhole stock. They are a comercial Mauser action.

I bought 30-06 Mark X new in the mid-80's. Very accurate rifle straight out of the box. I had mine converted to 338-06 about 7 or 8 years ago. I still love it. If you're recoil shy you may want to add a recoil pad or have the rifle restocked.

Have one in 22-250 that is accurate enough ,but I don't care for the stock like others have said . Recoil isn't a problem with a 22-250 and its light to carry, and didn't cost enough to have to worry about abusing it .Works for me .

I have one in .06 too. It shoots real good groups with all ammo I've put through it.
