A few months ago I read that Tasco had gone out of business. This was bad news for me as I have had about thirt of scopes and sold hundres of the when I was in the gun business. I had about zere problems with them. Most of them were world class models. I was checking thier old web site tonight and read that they have been purchased by Bushnell. It sounds as if they will honor all Tasco warranties and will have a new product line out soon.

cabelas has tasco scopes on sale i picked one up a week ago everybody must have them on sale now i think they are about 20% off

Good Luck! I went through the same crap with Redfield. I'm sticking with Leupolds. Ruger Redhawk

tasco scopes have never really impressed me. They are very inexpensive, but you get what you pay for in optics. I have one on my .22 because its a 4x that I got for 14.99 brand new, and its worth the 15 bucks, but I would never put one on a deer rifle. Just got rid of the bushenell that came on my .270, and got a leupold varixII 3-9x50, and it was worth every dime it cost.

Well said Trey, That's why the're called Trashco.In optics you usually get what you pay for.The bargain brands cost you more in the end. Better off saving a little longer and buy quality optics.

I have had three leupolds. Had to send two of them back. They replaced them with two which were no better that the two I sent back. They were the least clear scopes I ever had but at least they were very spendy. Clearest Scope I ever had and the second longest lasting is a 6X tasco world class. Forty bucks. Yep I Got what I paid for. Been using it for 20 seasons SO FAR. I have a 30 year old Redfield tracker. It cost about 60.00 when I got it. I have had in on many rifles from 222 to 416 Rem Mag. I quess what I am saying is that I am spending all the money that I need to spend. Quess we can all do the same. Happy Spending!!

James B, Glad that you have had luck with Tasco.I have an old Tasco but haven't used it on a rifle in several years.I have friends who used Tasco and Simmons and had problems with them.All I ever bought were Redfield's until they folded up. Now they are being made in Japan by who knows who?My Redfield buying days are over.The last few years I've been using Leupold's and so far haven't had any problems.Not saying that sometime I won't but I will just have to wait and see.I still have old Redfields but they will eventually be replaced with Leupold's.If something works for you stick with it.

I do just that. I have never had a seconds trouble with either Tasco or Bushnell. When I started shooting steel silhouettes quite a few years back I looked at some Leupold silhouette scopes. At the time they wanted about 399.00 for them. I bought a 308 rifle and a Bushnell 10X silouette scope for about 400.00 dollars, a 788 Rem rifle. That 10X scope wore out two rifles over about 8 years. When I retired from the target shooting I sold the scope for 75.00 dollars. Still worked like new. Bushnell has been flawless for me. I figure they earned my respect and my continuing businee. I have never used any of the bottom of the line scopes. I expect to pay 80-100.00 for a good Bushnell and 60-85 for a world class tasco. I had one Burris scope and that was really a good one. My old Redfield has been a great scope. Never tried any of the new Redfield and I most likely won,t. I had one Simmons that the crosshairs broke in. I think that was my fault as I forgot to thighten the screws on the rings. I quess I am the only one who has had rotten luck with Leupolds

I've never had as much trouble with either Tasco or Bushnell as I've had with Leupold.....And I've used both Tasco and Bushnells cheap scopes on rifles like .338 win Mag and .375 H&H with no trouble ever.

Hey....it's your money......spend it as you wish!!

..Poor man like me,they are perfect scopes,ive used them
for years,but i prefer bushnell,Leupold just does nothing
for me....:)...
