I had just purchased a Sako 75 rifle in 25-06. I had taken the stock off of the action/barrel to lower the trigger pull, as instructed in the manual. I was checking various parts of the gun to ensure that they looked up to par. I then loaded up the box magazinea few times andcycled through itto make sure that it fed properly. On the fourth or fifthtime I was cycling the gun, itwent off in my hands!! I know I didn't touch the trigger. I had it pointed in a safe direction of course, (well, safe for everything except my truck. My passenger side door doesn't work anymore.) Has this ever happened to anyone else? Should I contact Sako? I'm not a lawsuit happy person, but would Sakobe responsible for the damage to my truck?

I am really trying to change my ways on this forum... But when I read post like this it really is hard!!!!!

Yup, your an idiot, and people like you will be the reason that Americans lose the right to own guns. Here, I have a bit of advice, NEVER LOAD A GUN UNLESS YOU INTEND TO SHOOT SOMETHING WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!

How embarrasing, my gun has gone off several times but that's a different story all together.

Wow, I have seen some pretty idiotic, and useless posts on here before, that helps no one, but this one pretty well, I vote as the most useless of them all. "reason that Americans lose the right". Goodness, now thats idiotic. Anyone else?

If I'm sitting on the Jury, I'm going to be wondering why you're testing the new trigger setting with a loaded rifle.....then I'm going to be wondering why your rifle is pointed at the truck......(never point the gun at anything you do not intend to shoot!)

Nothing here convinces me that Sako owes you a dime!

Think of this as Uncle Darwin throwing you a pop quiz. Consider yourself lucky to get another chance!

OK guys, I think the point has been made that Red made a mistake. I am quite sure that the vast majority of us that handle or have handled weapons have at some time done something that wasn't completely safe. By calling names or being abusive to a guy who made a mistake is rediculous. Granted, his wanting to know if Sako would be responsible is ludicrous but the fact that he adjusted the trigger on a weapon and was unaware of the need to test it afterwords is no reason to torch a fellow forum member. As far as I am concerned, if you do not have something constructive to say, either grow up or move to a different site.

In the 5 pages only one person called him an idiot.

If you are going to post something like this on a public forum and actually suggest that the manufacturer be responsible then you should be prepared for the tongue lashings.

Thanks for being the forum police though.

But he only wounded his truck. Perhaps telling the insurance company he was the victom of a drive by shooting would be a little easier on his ego.

I'm no Columbo but I'm thinking they'll figure it out. Lol.
