Default Bolt-action 12ga shotguns

Can anyone out there please namea fewbolt action 12ga shotguns which exist for me?

I know Browning made the A-bolt, in which I am kicking myself because I wanted this gun so bad back when it was made and cheap (when my father would have had to buy it for me), and now it's a $2000 gun which is untouchable for me. Well I'll just put that one at the back of my mind for now.

In reality, is there anything which comes close to those A-bolts? I'm very close to buying a Savage 210, but I can't help but holding off for something which will seemingly come along like an A-bolt. Those guns had such beefy actions it makes other guns look puny.

Maybe in this day I'm stuck with needing the 210, as I really can't find anything more worthy for me.

You got it Matt. Big $$$ for the Browning (used) or the Savage (new).

Yeah, I figured the Savage is probably my best bet. I knew Mossberg made a few models, but they don't have very nice actions compaired to the 210 in my opinion.

I just didn't know if there were some models out there I didn't know existed that could compare with the Savage.

I don't think they still make them but Marlin used to make one with smethign like a 36" barrel for goose hunting.

What do you want to do with it? Most bolts you see will be for slug hunting and have rifled barrels. Mossberg used to make a bolt action bird barrel with variable choke on it. I owned one years ago, but I couldn't tell you what model it was off hand. As a matter fact I wouldn't bet money it was a mossberg now that I think of it. May have been an older savage possibly?

I know I don't see many with bird barrels though.

TarHunt also makes them, but they are BIG bucks.

Yeah I think the Savage 210 is probably my best bet now that I look around at some others for the money. I'm using the action to do a "12ga from hell" like Ed and others are doing using the full 3.85" bmg brass and a different barrel.

I was just asking this out to the forum as sometimes things pop up you don't even think about or remember.

Thanks guys.

Marlin quit making the 512 Slugmaster a few years ago.but they can still be found used.Mine shoots real well with expensive sabots.

Also check out Tar-Hunt.They are expensive custom made slug guns
