Another scope question
Hey all been awhile since my last post thought I would stop in and ask a question.
My eyesight is about 50/50 uncorreted, and 20/20 with my specs on but i have a terrible time seeing through my 336 sights. I know the 30-30 is a small gun but a scope would really help me out. What would you recomend for a brush gun scope? Thanks Bill |
RE: Another scope question
I think a Weaver K2.5 or K4 would look nice on a 336

RE: Another scope question
Exactly what he said. A low fixed power scope of 2x-2.5x would be perfect.

RE: Another scope question
Where is the best place to buy them? And what should i expect to pay?

RE: Another scope question
I have a 1.5x4.5 bushnell banner on my 336 .30-.30 and it works very well. Nothing fancy about the scope, but solid, get around 1.5-2" groups at 100 yards, and I bought the scope for around $80 new about 5 years ago.

Awsome thanks all

RE: Another scope question
Something in 2-7X32 this is low enough for very close range and easily enough for a 150-175 yard shot with a 30-30. I like the Leupold VX-II, but a good scope for the money is the Bushnell 3200. This scope is also marked as a Browning and they are on closeout at $139 through Natchez Shooters Supply.

RE: Another scope question
I guess I'm one of those people who would like to see everyone, including me save a little money. If you're not in a REAL big hurry, check some of your local gun dealers for used scopes. See if they would give you a rasonable guarantee with it. Gun shows are another good place, at least they are here in Western PA., as well as some of the gun periodicals and possibly e-Bay. Some of those older Weaver scopes mentioned before are fairly ready and available at reduced cost if you keep your eyes open.
Good luck........... |
