The gun shop in my area that i frequentis top noch and they are professionals. If they say the 300WM is being outsold by the 300WSM, I'll choose to believe them.They know what guns are being moved in their shop.Two years ago i went to Cabelas and the man at the gun shop said the same thing. The 300WSM is very popular now and why shouldn't it be?In my circle of hunting friends most hunt with 270's or 06's but lately they have purchasedall together eleven 300WSM rifles. When I count their family members and other friends who havepurchased the 300WSM I can count 7 more, this tells me they like the rifle and it is very popular where we live. Not one of them owns a 300WM.Many of guys I've talked to prefer a short action. My 300WSM doesn'trecoil like a magnum, it kicks more like a 06.

ORIGINAL: cma3366a The same could be said of the .300win mag. It does nothing the 300H&H couldent do, except utilize a more modern (when it was released) case design, andpackage that power in a smaller action/rifle. The point of the .300 WSM was to make the action smaller, by making the case fatter, instead of longer, so the point of both the WSM and the Win Mag was to make the cartridge smaller for an action, and to introduce change into the way a case is made. That's your opinion. |

And you treated the difference in these cartridges as being very little trifles, not putting emphasis on the differences. So, I would assume you think nothing of them, except it being like Microsoft vs. Apple, stealing different technology from each other, and selling it, with only minor modifications, and branding it as their own. If there's little better about the .300 WSM, then why is everyone stripteasing for it? |
