The only one I have any experience with is on a friends 222 Rem., and he says its a piece of junk .I have shoot the gun and its just not a very clear scope . If you are looking at them, look through a good scope,Leupold or such and then try the BSA that will give you a better idea at least of the clarity . The durability is anybody's guess .Thats why they say buyer beware .

I have a used B.S.A 1.75-5X32mm. it came with one of my guns. i did not like it cause after using only 4 times at the range. i would go to adjust the varible and i would not get a clear view of the target. i had to leave it on the setting of 2X.
i don't know if it helps but it was a decent scope before it broke on my whelen.didn't really fog up

What about BSA red dot scope 30mm, 5moa. Is it any good for shotguns? Particulary shooting 3.5 inch magnum turkey loads. Any info will be appreciated.

I had a BSA competitor in 6-24x with dot reticle. It was a real POS. It was on a AR15 and would not click consistantly and started to drift around after a few hundred rounds. I got rid of it fast. One thing I have noticed in optics is that you really get what you pay for.

i thought scopes were scopes once too..then after missing a deer and wounding and loosing 2 because a crapco broke on my mauser...i put 150bux into a used leupold(no fear lifetime warrenty...) and now im a crack shot like ive always been...dropped 2 deer with her this year and i used to think cheap tascos and simmons and other crap was clear...you compare it to my leupold and you will think someone tinted the lenses on the cheap scopes...my dad had a simmons on his deer rifle...first morning were sitting there hes like SOB! my scopes fogged i cant see the deer in the scope!..i wondered if my leupold was fogged up..looked through and just smiled..that deers lucky i couldnt shot it because my dad was inbetween us...best 150bucks ive ever spent...my suggestion is to save you money for a while..even a used leupold is better than te best crap scopes...look around some of your gun shops that sell used guns and such...you may find a good deal on a used leupold or other good scope like i did...i know leupolds have a lifetime warrenty....

I'd agree with you about Simmons except the Atec is a great scope. It is truly the exception. I have a few Leopolds and a couple of Monararchs, and they are great scopes but I challenge anyone to prove to me that they perform better than the Atec. I have hunted with the Atec for the last three years, in rain, snow, and low light conditions. The first two years it was on my Encore with a 45-70 barrel. This year it is on a 300 win. mag barrel and has accounted for three deer so far this year. It has always held zero and has never fogged up. That is great value for the price.
