The bad news is, that does seem steep. The good news is, I've never seen them sell for that much. Usually $150 to $200.

Does anyone remember the movie "RAGE" with George C. Scott? He chose a similar rifle (different coompany name but same style gun) for his "get even gun".

Henry makes some very fine firearms, Ive looked at many different models and i cant say anythign bad about them. The gun youre looking at makes a very nice pack gun.

Marlin had a model called the PaPoose (sp?) a while back. Pretty much the same design except I don't think the barrel and action stores in the stock like the Henry. My father in law has one. If your looking to buy you might check around for a Marlin. Just my 2 cents.

I have had one for about 15 years. It stays under the back seat to dispatch occasional feral cat or car hit deer. I have no complaints it does what it was built for.

I have 3 firearms made by henry rifles and would by another. I've only had afew problems with them and in the one case where the problem was severe the company fixed it for free. You pay extra for the henry but the guarantee is worth it.
