7MM Mag followed by a 7-08 and the .270 a close third. But it still comes downto the gunner not the gun.

Even though I've never hada deer move out of it's tracks after being shot with my 7mm. Rem. Mag....I'm still going to vote for the .270 as the best all around deer caliber.

From the list the .243 is the only cartridge I have killed anything with. And it is deffinately NOT my favorite deer round.

I have used a .264 win mag mostly and a .35 whelen and a .300 savage and a couple different muzzleloaders (.58 cal, .54 cal and .50 cal with saboted bullets) and a 12 ga. with sabboted slugs.

I think my Sav. lever 99 in .300 sav. is probably my favorite.

Robin

If I had to choose from the list I think eather a .308 or 7mm08 in a lever, pump or semiauto would be my choice.

I like the 30-30 for deer. It's probably all I need for deer hunting in Mn. It kills well and it's easy on the shoulder and the pocketbook. I also have a .308 Win if I need more range. Not sure what my 30-06 is for.

My favorite is a toss up between the 270 Win, 7mm-08 Rem and the 308 Win, but after this shoulder surgery I think the 7mm-08 is going to get my vote this year. Might even hae to fall back to a 243 Win unless I can find a 257 Robts or a Savage 99 in 250 Savage.

.308 = Best deer gun ever made.

I love mine, and I don't have a .243, and I'm proud of that fact.

I voted 30-30 which is probably my favorite, but I have killed the majority of my deer with a 270. I am currently toying with a 308, but I haven't had a chance to try it on game.

I'm with the guys that voted other. My favorite is my .280 Remington although I have begun to fall in love with my son's 7-08.
