RE: new gun for fiance
Funny... I didn't want a gun for mine 'til 11 years after she'd become my WIFE!
Whoops - sorry: off topic.
Anyway, have her handle both guns, & see what fits her best. If she's already proven shecan handle thosecartridges with your rifle, she'll handle them even better in a rifle that fits her well. And both cartridges will handle just about every critter on this continent.
Take her to the store, and see which rifle follows her home.
Good Luck,
FC

Going with F.C. again. It depends on what she likes. Personally I would think she will favor the Remington as they seem to be less crude than some of the savages i have shot as far as the stock goes. Savage has some pretty boxy stocks out there and its not a problem for me cuz ive got more a baseball glove than a hand for someone with smaller hands the remingtons seem to rounded better to fit smaller hand altough i havent found a remington that doesnt fit my mitt of a hand.

So many replies.... yet,
No one asks what it will be used for, so....
What will she be using it for?
You know.... matching tools to the job, etc. etc.
If you/she don't know, then my advice has always been....
One's first three long guns should be:
22LR
30-06
12 gauge
