RE: 350 mag for grizzly????
Before Winchester started chambering the M 70 for the .375 H&H Magnum back in the late 1930's, the most powerful cartridge routinely made available in the U.S. for dangerous game was the .35 Whelen. It was once considered almost equal to the .375 H&H!! Your .350 Rem. Mag. is at least as powerful (actually a little MORE) as that Whelen! With the right premium controlled-expansion bullet like a Nosler Partition, Barnes X, Trophy Bonded Bear Claw or Swift A-Frame, your rifle should be a real killer on bears of any size (and anything else you point it at)!!
Keep yore powder dry!! |
RE: 350 mag for grizzly????
midrange caliber at midrange weights at a decent velocity spells death for the grizzly. use a decent bullet (nosler parttion comes to mind) for penetration and goodluck to ya
propmahn save the world, reload your brass |

RE: 350 mag for grizzly????
The 350 mag is just a little behind the whelen with the heavier bullet weights but either one with a 250gr bullet at 2400fps would be good medicine for big bears.
