Default BDL Stock for SPS

I am looking at a Remington 700 SPS stainless in the .243. Would a Bell and Carlson stock made for a BDL Short Action fit, or do I need to be looking for an aftermarket made specifically for an SPS? The stock I am looking at is the same that is on my 700 LVSF which I really like.

Yes it will, provided you are looking at a sps with a hinged floor plate. If your looking at a sps with a bling magazine then you need to get a stock for an ADL.

All the SPS' are HF(Hinged Floorplate)or DM(Detachable Magazine). If yours is an HFthen the BDL stock will work fine with it. Just make sure its not a BDL DM stock.

ahh ahh Bull spit! I've purchased several sps ADL's. As a matter of fact I picked one up yesterday from Wal-mart. Remington SPS ADL 243.I suppose they may have a SPS DM as well, I don't know.My previous post is still correct with the exception of possibly a DM model.

Remington SPS ADL 243.
ADL and SPS are two different models of guns. All SPS guns have hinged floor plates or detachable magsand all ADL's had blind magazines. ADL's are not made any more, they were replaced by the SPS.

bigbulls.. You are correct... but there are still a few ADLs out there on the shelves. And I do believe that Walmart does still sell the ADL... which I'm sure they made a buy on for a significantdeal.. when Remington changed over to the SPS. They may even go as far as calling it and ADL SPS.. that I'm not sure about.

Why on earth they went from that fine looking stock on the ADL to the ugly bulky one on the SPS is beyond me.

there may have been ADL SPS' in the past but they arent produced any more, check Remingtons website for the three models listed with the SPS acronym.

Kbacon, Yep there are definetly some ADL's still available in the retail stores. I recently (last November)purchased my daughter an ADL in .243 for $280.Our dealer cost on a new SPSwouldn'tcome close to that price.

If one looks around there are still some incredible deals on left over ADL's.
