I have never been a semi-auto or fully-automatic fan.
BUT, I just looked attwo Panther arms semi-auto rifles. One was chambered in 223, the other in 308.
This got me thinking? I sure would like that 223 for coyotes, gophers & prairie dogs.
I could also use that 308 for deer & antelope.
Anyone else out therehave any use for aPanther Arms Rifle?

I just bought a new Rock River. My purchase was between the DPMS and the RR. I believe they are both great rifles. IMO the RR is slightly less expensive. I got mine for $879. Tom.

I have had two DPMS AR-15's. Both DPMS rifles I had were very good quality and shot well. Both were fairly inexpensive too. I ended up selling both rifles to friends, and after a trade, I currently own my original again.
I have a love/hate relationship with AR's. I really like the design of the rifle. They can be had in all kinds of configurations and are capable of shooting extremely well. But, cleaning them and picking up my brass is tedious. I suppose I could just shoot cheap ammo, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having an accurate AR.

I also have the Lo Pro in .223. I got it because the price seemed right, & that was just about the time that a couple o' knuckleheads were causing trouble with a Bushmaster in the DC area. I figured I should buy one while I could.
I had all kinds of FTF problems with it, so I was pretty sour on it. This past Summer, I decided after having it for 4+ years & not shooting it, I should send it back to DPMS to work on it. They turned it around super-quick, even over 4th of July weekend, and fixed it at no charge. It's actually turned out to be quite the shooter.
I haven't had any others, so I'm not sure how it compares to Bushmaster, Armalite, Rock River, et. al. I do like the company, however.

I never thought cleaning them was a pain, then again I've probably done it hundreds of times LOL. I guess compared to a bolt action, you need to keep a semi a lot cleaner and you have more things to clean and lots of litte things to lose

The guy in the back is my DPMS LoPro 5.56/.223. It has proven itself to be very reliable, and unbelievably accurate with 69grainers. I'd buy another DPMS in a heartbeat.

Wait a minute!

I venture over to the shooting range that DPMS owns in St. Cloud, MN a couple times a year. They always have their display trailer there. I have interest in one of their AR's in .260, but for $1200 some odd dollars, I will go with a new bow first. I have heard nothing but very good things about them, and since they are made in MN, they have to be great!
