I ordered that stock from McMillan. There was/is a 4 month wait and a $400 price tag on it. It's my second Mc stock and, yes, they are worth the money. On your other question, the SPS comes in stainless in many calibers, including the .243 if that's the way you're leaning.

I love my Remington LVSF in .223. Does a clean little number on yotes with a 45gr jhp. I do wish I had a .243 at times when the wind is blowing pretty stiff out in the desert where I hunt. Besides, the .243 will fit nicely between my .223 and .270 in the gun case. I am leaning towards a Remington 700 SPS Stainless, but the Tikka and Ruger are still on the radar as well.

DPMS AR15, .223cal 20" SS, fluted bull barrel 1:9 twist, JP trigger, alum. free float hand guard, std. A2 stock, Glass is a Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14X50 IR. sitting on a LaRue tactical 104forward mount...........with black hillsbullets it will shoot .5 MOA. not too heavy at about 10lbs
