RE: $200 for gun
nice rifles. i am looking at the remington 7600 in 243. but i am starting to think about maybe getting a 223 or 22-250. i am a lefty and it is hard trying to find a lh bolt action within my price range. i might go check out the local pawn/gun shops here. i don't want to buy a savage since i already have one and i like but i just want to try out other brands of rifles.

RE: $200 for gun
for $200 get a 17HMR with an accutrigger LOL
|
RE: $200 for gun
that wouldn't be a bad idea. the 17hmr is a nice little gun.

RE: $200 for gun
ORIGINAL: dway87 Ok I went toa couple of pawn shops today to sell my 710. One shop offered me $200 and the other told me that I should try to sellit individually. The thing is, is that I need the money now. The people who offered me $200 said I can come back and take the offer. What do you all think? It's a .243 win and I added a real nice sling to it. |
RE: $200 for gun
ORIGINAL: dway87 no no no. i mis-wrote what i said about being in the market. i am inthe market for a different rifle and maybe different caliber like a 223 or 22-250. trust me, i learned about the 710 the hard way and will probably never ever touch one again. How much do you have to add to the $200.00? And what will your purpose be with your new rifle when you get it? Deer? varmints? ????? |
RE: $200 for gun
I want a varmit/deer caliber rifle. I shoot mostly deer. I got a 30-30 and 270win though. my 710 was a 243 and i thought it was pretty accurate. but i could downsize to a 22-250 or 223. im thinking more 22-250 though.

RE: $200 for gun
Since you have a 270 and a 30-30 and want a varmint/deer caliber, you might as well stick with the 22-250. The 243 you had was a fine caliber to be a cross-over, but with the 270 it really isn't necessary.
The 6.5 X 55 is my idea of a fantastic cross-over rifle, being able to handle bullet wieghts decently up to 150 and even 160 gr. But, once again, since you have the deer angle covered so well with the 270, the 22-250 is a wonderful choice. |
