$200 for gun

Ok I went toa couple of pawn shops today to sell my 710. One shop offered me $200 and the other told me that I should try to sellit individually. The thing is, is that I need the money now. The people who offered me $200 said I can come back and take the offer. What do you all think? It's a .243 win and I added a real nice sling to it.

If it was me-I would take the $200 for it and never look back. The model 710s are rapidly proving to be junk.

Keep the sling and get the $200 for the rifle. You can always use your sling on your next rifle.

RE: $200 for gun

yeah but i think the $200 is with the sling. that's ok though. i don't need the sling that bad. i am hoping to save up for the 7600.

LMFAO - If 200 with the SLING is the best they can do, that should tell you something.. Sholda done some resesearch before buying a POS.

RE: $200 for gun

Taking the $200.00 right away was the smartest thing you could do. To spend it on another 710 would not be nearly so smart.

no no no. i mis-wrote what i said about being in the market. i am inthe market for a different rifle and maybe different caliber like a 223 or 22-250. trust me, i learned about the 710 the hard way and will probably never ever touch one again.

nice rifles. i am looking at the remington 7600 in 243. but i am starting to think about maybe getting a 223 or 22-250. i am a lefty and it is hard trying to find a lh bolt action within my price range. i might go check out the local pawn/gun shops here. i don't want to buy a savage since i already have one and i like but i just want to try out other brands of rifles.

for $200 get a 17HMR with an accutrigger LOL

dway87 02-04-2007 09:31 AM

RE: $200 for gun

that wouldn't be a bad idea. the 17hmr is a nice little gun.

IF you can get that much for it, take the $200.00 and be tickled!

IK, I'm glad you didn't sqaunder anymore to the 710 line.
How much do you have to add to the $200.00? And what will your purpose be with your new rifle when you get it? Deer? varmints? ?????

dway87 02-04-2007 11:00 AM

RE: $200 for gun

I want a varmit/deer caliber rifle. I shoot mostly deer. I got a 30-30 and 270win though. my 710 was a 243 and i thought it was pretty accurate. but i could downsize to a 22-250 or 223. im thinking more 22-250 though.

8mm/06 02-04-2007 03:03 PM

RE: $200 for gun

Since you have a 270 and a 30-30 and want a varmint/deer caliber, you might as well stick with the 22-250. The 243 you had was a fine caliber to be a cross-over, but with the 270 it really isn't necessary.
The 6.5 X 55 is my idea of a fantastic cross-over rifle, being able to handle bullet wieghts decently up to 150 and even 160 gr.
But, once again, since you have the deer angle covered so well with the 270, the 22-250 is a wonderful choice.

yeah i guess tomorrow i will head on over to wal-mart and see if i can order a gun. it's between a remington 700 bdl 22-250 or 7600 in 243.

RE: $200 for gun

Ruger has lots of lefties in their line up. Sheesh, I'm starting to sound like a Ruger rep. Oh well. Good decision to dump the 710. I did the samenot too long ago and put the money toward a Ruger M77 MkII in 25-06.

dway87 02-04-2007 08:03 PM

RE: $200 for gun

yeah i thought of getting the m77 in 25-06. i changed my mind since i got a 270. anyway i am still unsure of what caliber to get next. either 22-250 or 243. i also got the ol 30-30.
