RE: Less expensive shotgun scope
Check out the Nikon Buckmaster. Fixed 4 power with a 40mm objective. I've seen them for as low as $151.00 at different websites.

RE: Less expensive shotgun scope
i have a tasco-bantam scope on my 870. cost about 70 bucks when i bought it 8 years ago. it was just a quick fix untill i could afford something better, but to this day its has never let me down or needed to be resighted. imy 870 is a cantaliever 23-inch rifled barrel. its kicks like a mule. i guess ive just been lucky. the scope has at least 100 shots on it between deer and trget.

I wouldn't skimp on the optics. Raise you min. price if you can.... fog proof, rain proof.

RE: Less expensive shotgun scope
ORIGINAL: ken p For those of you that prefer the Nikon does the lower field of view ever cause any problems? I thought I would like to have a higher FOV for any deer that might come through at a faster pace but not sure. Any problems with 2x being the lowest setting? |
