Im looking to buy a new shotgun, but it has to be under $600. Just wanted to know what you guys reccomend, what would be the best gun? I will be shooting mostly skeet, and doing some bird hunting.
Thanks

Opinions will vary but I guess I'm a little true to my favorite. 1187 Remington 12 gauge. YOu can getall the chokes for skeet, dove, pheasent hunting. Then upgrade later and add a deer barrel if you want. Catch them on sale you should stay under $600. Option #2 Remington 870 12 guage. Might be a little tough shooting skeet being a pump but I've seen plenty of guys do it. I don't shoot skeet myself. Same set up with different chokes should keep you less than $400

Beretta 390 Silver Mallard..most run in the $525-$600 range. Some of the best semi's ever built.

Can also find a few Benelli M1s/Super 90s floating around for around $600.

And you can always find a good older Rem 1100 for under $400.

Under 600, you can't beat an 1187. I used one for years, and didn't miss a beat, until that o ring broke. And actually I was duck huntin with some guys last year and one just got a 935 mossberg and I am not a mossberg fan, but it did excellent in very bad weather. Lastly, you can't beat a beretta from walmart. I have several friends that use them.

Since you have $600 to play with I would definately look into a remington 1100 or 1187. I bought a mossberg 500 pump a while back. Its a great gun for 200 bucks, but then a friend of mine gave me a remington 1100 that was beat to heck and siezed up from corrosion. Well I got it cleaned up and now I hardly ever use my Mossberg. Well I will use it for deer with my new slug barrel but not for dove and clays. An auto loader is the way to go

There is www.gunbroker.com , but some of the prices seem high to me. Its the ebay of guns, check it out but also shop around you may find better prices or relatively close to what is on gunbroker. good luck

www.gunbroker.com , www.gunsamerica.com ,I also vote for the 1100. I've used one for 6 years or so and has never jammed, missfired or anything. That was even without cleaning it because I wanted it to break so I would have an excuse to buy a Benelli Supersport.
