Nice rifle. It will serve you well.

"I fired my very first shot while sighting it in, the scope hit me right above the eyebrow!"

The scope is too far to the rear. i can tell that from the photo. Need to move it forward about 3/4 inch.

But how could it possibly kick less than a 22-250. aint buying that.
Maybe because my gun comes with a recoil pad, and the 22-250 doesn't, must be some recoil pad my gun comes with.

I think it's a pachymeyer.

Woohoo, congratulations! Enjoy it and watch out for scope eye. Might need higher rings to move it forward...looks like the rear iron sight is kind of close to the objective bell.

Actually, the rear iron sights have been removed, but I would still have to raise the scope to move it forward, so I could re-install the sights! And I'll have iron sights and a scope!

This is getting better!

I'm going to have the scope adjusted and sighted in this week.

Congrats on the new gun! I have a Winchester M70 in .308 that looks just about like yours, but it came without any open sights at all!
BTW, I got 6 stitches from that .308!!!! It's not that much recoil, I was holding it at a bad angle making a hunting shot!
Also, except for the big kickers that you KNOW that you've shot after the first shot, recoil is cumulative, after a box of shells or so in one sitting, you'll feel the difference between the .308 and a .22-250!
Again, congrats!
