Opinion on mossberg 100 atr rifles

I think you need to save your money and buy what you need/want.
If you get something cheap, you will want to "step up" later. By doing this, you will save money in long run as well as gain more confidence.

I had two, a .270 and a .308 and I thought they were Okay. The trigger is terrible, and I couldn't find anyone that could work on it. I sold both of them and bought a Savage .270 It is a far better gun. Like bear said, you will eventually want to step up later, but if you just "have" to have a gun soon and it is all you can muster, then I say go for it.

If you want a true bargain on a bolt rifle check out the Stevens 200.

They just reviewd the ATR in Outdoor Life and they really liked it. They tried the first models and hated them so the told Mossberg what they should fix and they fixed the problems, I know the trigger was one problem. I'll try and find the latest review.
