James -

How is the finish on the SPS? I had 2 700 ADL Synthetics and both would rust like crazy if not taken care of within a day of getting wet. I like the SPS looks and price, just wondering if they did anything to make the finish on them tougher.

What are you going to do with that rifle?
What range will you be shooting?
Mainly varmints and deer and of course targets. Varmints I'll shoot 5-600 yards or so, once I get dialed in. Deer probably 2-300 yards. I have a .223 already for varmints and a .270, 7mm Mag, 30-30, 300 win mag, for everything else. I just want to build my own ultimate all around type rifle.

I'd just leave the factory trigger in the gun and have it tuned by a good gunsmith. Those other 2 triggers are good triggers, but aren't necessary. I have had 2 Rem 700s that I have had triggers done on and they were perfect when done. That lil tip should save ya some $$$$

Other than that sounds like it will be a fun build. I'm not sure I like the carbon fiber barrels though......
Yeah, I reworked my 700PSS .223 trigger and I like it, so I'll have to see if I end up getting an action with or without a trigger.
