What do ya'll think, walnut and blued or synthetic and stainless(yuk!)?

You can't beat the beauty of fine wood! But, I cry a lot less when I scratch my composite stocks!

A wood stock is like a shiny BLACK car! Looks good on the showroom floor, but you are affraid to take it out and get it dirty!

Walnut and blue for show,... synthetic and s/s for hunting...

I like the look of wood, but hate to scratch it. Wood stocks are now useless to me. I currently own a Mod 70 ultimate shadow and LOVE that stock. Does anyone know how to get another stock like that one? Its a quiet stock and very durable.

I have a win shadow as well and that synthetic is way quieter and better than my synthetic Rem 700 stock. If your eally hunting, get a good synthetic. I am poor and cant afford high grade walnut anyway. EJ

I like wooden stocks and I don't worry too much if I put a stratch on them. I figure I buy them to use and not just for show.

No question about it,walnut and wood. Scaratches and worn bluing are character marks...can't mark something with no character!

Wood or laminate stock are my favorite. As far as barrel I like both so it doesn't matter. In terms of feel nothing like wood IMO.

Scratches are not damage. They are character and memories of past hunts.
