I give 'em a hearty, "Two Thumbs Up!". I have a Rem 700 CDL in .30-06, and my buddy has a BDL, same caliber. Mine has the R3 (sims) pad, & he has a ΒΌ" plastic butt plate. Weight of the two is the same. When shooting at the range, we both noticed a huge difference between the two. For < $30, it's a no brainer: go get one today!

I've also heard good things about Pachmeyer (sp?) and Shooter's Friend pads, but haven't used either.

Good Luck,

FC

I had one on my last rifle. It worked like a charm.

The ones they have now might be really good, but I remember right after they first came out I shot a friends a-bolt in .300 wsm with a sims pad on it. I rember thinking "durn that thing kicks like a mule". I have pachmayrs on my 2 magnums andI love 'em. I have an M77 in 7mm rem. mag. that I got new in 1986 and that thing was a booger from the bench, I put a pachmayr on it and I believe I could shoot it off my chin if I wanted to.

I own 3. The last one I got from walmart for less than 20.00. They work great.

I have 2 Sims pads as well as several pachmyar's. They work at reducing felt recoil, good investment IMO.

They work very well. I have a slip-on sims on my .300 win mag and really cuts down on felt recoil.

They seem to work good, IMHO, especially with high power rifles, they really dampen the recoil, and make it where it isn't so unbearable.
