RE: 25-06 questions
Does savage make a heavy barrel 25-06 that is a decent gun? If so which model is it? There's also this one, but it's not stainless. http://www.savagearms.com/110fp.htm |

RE: 25-06 questions
I have a 25-06 Rem sendero Heavy Barrel. This gun is amazing. It is my most accurate centerfire rifle, and I own plenty. Amazing combo, get it, you wont be dissapointed.

RE: 25-06 questions
For coyotes, I would have a slight preferrence to a fast 6MM over a .257 caliber. And would probably slightly prefer a fast .22 CFover a fast 6MM - although for deer my preference scale would slide the other way. A fast 6MM would be great for both, if that is what you are asking.

RE: 25-06 questions
That swift will serve you well as a coyote rifle.I have had one for several years and is is amazing how accurate I can get my hand loads, but my rifle is a ruger m77 mkII . If you want a deer coyote rifle that 25-06 is a good choice. If you hand load it has some great bullets for varmits and deer size game. I just like to have an excuse to have more riles so I have my swift for small game, 243 for daughter;) ,6.5X284 for deer at long range.270wsm for deer, .300wm for deer, 45/70 for deer , ect......One of my bother -in-laws has shot many deer with his 25-06 and has dropped most in there tracks. I always stand there in aw at his shot, boom drop!!!

You can't go wrong with the 25.06 for the purposes you want to use it for. I bought my first centerfire rifle over 20 years ago and it was a 25.06. It was a Ruger M77 (older tang safety) which is used for groundhogs, coyotes & deer. Still use it and will not stop. It has also taken black bear & a moose but I now use a 30.06 for these. Definitely a little lite for moose but if you keep your shots short & placed well they sure drop fast.:D |

Salty for your needs I would highly recomend the 25-06 Rem.I have used the 25-06 for deer,antelope,b-bear and elk.I have also used it for yote's and groundhogs and rock chucks. It is capeble of taking yote's along ways away and deer(big deer) out to 400 yds.
