RE: Your Favorite Caliber
Don't really have a favorite persay, like several. But my own choices noware .284/cartridge 7mm rem mag and .50 cal in the front stuffers.
Would like to get a.25cal probably chamber it in either a .257 wby or possible go 2506AI, just depends on what frame I build off of, for the likes of deer down.

I guess it depends. 22 for just messin' around...I keep meaning to get a "nice" one some day, but by-golly even some of the cheap ones shoot be ter than I can, especially if you consider the wind.
Actual "caliber" would be .30 its ancient and so popular there's a bullet out there to do everything.
Actual "cartridge"....If I had to choose one to do EVERYTHING with would be the old 30-06.

30-30, as that is what I have right now. Wish I'd kept my .270 - if I were buying another centerfire deer rifle, and not trying to cheap out with milsurp ammo (my inclination is) - then another .270 that is probably what I'd opt for.

If I had only one to live with it would be the 30-06, cause it'le do everything better than anything else, the Jack of all trades, in the rifle world. Please read that last sentence the way it's intended. But most of the time when I go to the woods it's my1895 45-70 that my hand is wrapped arround, call it Bigboreitus !
