Are you going to be hunting coyotes at night? If so, I'd go with no higher than a 3x magnification on the low side.
If not, something like a 4.5-14x40 would be more appropriate. I've got one on my .25-06 (Leupold VX-III), and I really like it.
I like the higher-end models of Leupolds, Nikons, and I liked the last Bushnell 3200 I looked through on a friend's rifle.

well the one im getting isnt a package though. Im wondering what kind of scope i should put on it for prarie dogs, ground hogs, and alot of coyote hunting. what about a "Mueller 8.5-25X50". i think that would be a good one. Any thoughts?

I have a Nikon 6-18x40 Buckmaster scope brand new in box, never been mounted that I would sell to you for a good price. If you are interested let me know.
I would not put a scope on it with the lowest setting higher than 6x. A 4.5-14 is a really good choice as well.

I only shoot my 10 fp from a bench, its a little heavy for me to carry around.I have a 36# weaver target scope on mine and it works really well for me.If I was going to carry it I would probably leave this scope on it to at least see how it did.
Mine is an older model without the accru-trigger,after working on the trigger and bedding it,it has been a very good shooter.
The buckmaster 6x18 is a very good scope I have one on a rem 260 and it works just fine.Mine has the plex rect. but I think I would go with the target dot for small game but that is just me.
