bushnell scope on .270
#1

ok i just got my scope and i went to the range to sight it in. the problem is that it's a 3-9 scope and it won't adjust. i took the screw out to move the ring but it still won't adjust. i have never had a problem with a bushnell scope. i don't have the money to get a nikon or leupold. so what could be the problem? thanks

the model is bushnell trophy 73-3940s (silver) 3-9 variable scope. the screw was on the ring where you adjust the power from 3x to 9x. when the screw is in you can't move the ring which is why i took it out to move it. it is a brand new scope. i just received it today.

i did go ahead and sighted it in at what it's at. i have no idea what power it's on. probably 3 or 4. but the gun shot dead on so at least that's something to be happy about. i would like the power to be on at least 6 though.

You shouldnt have taken out any screws on the scope. You may have simply received a bad scope. I would take it to a shop or someone who knows what they are doing asap. Don't disasemmble it any further because they may not take it back.
