Depends on the manufacturer and the configuration you want. Go to WWW.GUNBROKER.COMand do a search for AR-15. That should give you an idea of the different price ranges.

They seem to be priced around $700. Thanks for the link.

I just saw an Armalite AR15 with flattop and collapsible stock @gander mountain for $999.99. Could probably be found cheaper but that gives you an idea.

If you're handy, you can put one together from parts for closer to $600. For your first AR, buy an Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt, Rock River, Olympic, or DPMS- they all have warranties.

It really depends on what you want- If you want a DCM type rifle or varminter figure on starting at around $1200, if you want a m4 type carbine figure on the high $900s, If you want a plain jane A2 type rifle you'll pay $700-850. Add 300-400 to any of those figures if you want to get a colt.

I thought the M4 ones looked cool. Pretty military looking. Really bad to the bone...etc.

So, About $1000 for an M4 type AR-15?

I saw those also... Personally I thought the stocks were cheap and the gun was way overpriced.

Well, not $1000 for an M4. $1000 for an M4 base rifle. Add lights, mounts, sights, tactical this and that, you will be looking at another $1000 - $2000 to personalize.

Looks to me that an AR-15 is too expensive for me to try to get. I can't spend so much money. With that kind of money, I could buy 2 Remington Model 700 Titaniums!
