Does anyone know of a company that makes a quality .22 magnum semi-auto? I saw one years ago made by a company named AMT. If it was AMT do you know if they make good pistols or not? Sorry guys, when I wrote this post earlier I forgot to mention that I was looking for a semi-auto pistol, so I changed the title.

CAM2, AMT is the only maker of .22 mag pistols that i have seen. i believe mdm was tlaking about rifles. i talked to one guy who had one, and he seemed pleased with its performance.

The AMT is the only one I know of. I have an AMT and it shoots alright. The clips are a little pricey as is the ammo, now. I would suggest a .22lr or any of the auto pistol calibers from .32 up.
My mother is real small and not getting any younger. She couldn't handle a couple handguns I was trying with her. I ended up getting her a .410 coachgun with 3" shells. She had shot some trap and skeet in her younger days and warmed right up the smoothbore and uses it to get rid of the coons, possoms, rabbits, etc.. I even caught her buying shells at Wal-Mart one time!! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I own two 22lr pistols and two 22lr rifles and I was just looking for something different in a .22 pistol. I know that there are many 22 mag revolvers but I would like to own a 22mag auto-loader.

Years back I had a AMT, it had the mid-length bbl., can't remember exact measurement. Shot ok, accuracy wasn't match-grade but decent enough. But was real finicky about ammo for function. I could only use Win.'s in it. That was before all the premium .22-Mag ammo came out. If you can find one at a decent price I'd get it.

I own a AMT .22 mag and it is a great little gun. Very loud for a .22 and with the old CCI it would jam so I shoot nothing but Winchester and never had it jam since. I was going to trade it in on a gun at Gander Mountain and they told me to bring it in and after I brought it in they said they didn't want it because it would be to hard to sell a gun like that. Why did they tell me to bring it in in the first place if they new they couldn't sell it?? Any way I'm glad I kept it as it is a fast shooting accurate pistol which is good for backpacking or whatever since .22 amo is light to carry. If you get one I think you will like it but will have trouble reselling it is the only drawback I can see.

Of course there was also a 22 mag auto made by Grendel. It was the P30. 30 round clip

Had one a few years back. Went full-auto on me. Grendel fixed, no charge. Wishing I never sold it. I think Grendel is no longer in business.
