I personally vouch for the Stoeger model 2000. I own one and it is my favorite pheasant gun. It feels nice, is light, and is very reliable. It rarely jams up and is probably almost asdependable asa Benelli. It's a great gun. I do not have a slug barrel for mine so I can't help you on that one. I got my gun used for $270 which is an amazing deal. Look for a used one that's in good condition. Good luck andhappy hunting.
