So you’re saying that you’re looking for a Sako rifle in wood with a s/s barrel. Have you looked at or for the Sako 75 grey wolf ? Here’s a list of the Sako rifles. Not sure if what they have are still available but might give you an idea on options. Good luck... http://www.berettausa.com/product/pr...ifles_main.htm

I've owned both models. I sold the Browning A-Bolt and currently own two Sako 75's, a regular Hunter model 7mm mag and a Hunter Stainless that has been rebarreled with a Lilja tube chambered in .300 Win mag. I never could warm up to the Browning. I didn't like the stock design, the looks, the funky bolt design and accuracy was just so-so.

Another option is the Kimber as has been mentioned.

Trailer,
I saw the gray wolf. I have the same stock on my TC Omega. I'd really rather have the hunter in Walnut as the grey is a little too loud for me.

thanks for the suggestion though.

I don't know about the Sako 75s but I have a Sako L691 and love it. This is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned/fired.

I don't know about the A-bolts, but an old boss of mine had one and always had problems with it.

I had a Browning BAR (parts from Belgium, assembled in Portugal) and I never liked it as much (first rifle I sold when I got short on money).

IMHO, I would go with the Sako, but I would look for an older one. They are hard to find, so that might tell you something about how their owners feel about them.;)

I personally love the action on the A-bolt. If I was designing my dream action it would be very close to the A-bolt. I built a long range rifle based on A-bolt actionin a 7mm rum and my best 5 shot group at 800 meters was 2.47 inches!
