RE: Question on Youth Rem. model 710
get the savage youth package. should be about $20-40 more, but alot better gun. Remington makes alot of excellent firearms...the 710 is not one of them.

RE: Question on Youth Rem. model 710
ORIGINAL: xd9x19 ORIGINAL: pahntr760 Not to mention an rem 700 ADL with a scope is the same price. Mine has a nikon scope so its a little more, but the regular Wally World busnell's will work just fine. Mine shoots clover groupsat 100 yds! Go ahead and call BS. I mean its not like i just bought one 2 months ago. Here's an ad! http://www.impactguns.com/store/047700270951.html http://www.impactguns.com/store/047700270975.html Not sale prices, everyday ones. But its BS, right? |
RE: Question on Youth Rem. model 710
As I said, it's essentially on clearance. According to Remington's web site, the production of the ADL ceased in 2004, so you're getting one of the last of a breed - a rifle that's been sitting around for the last 2 years or so collecting dust. Not that it's a bad thing. If I had the choice of a 700 w/scope for $100 more than a 710, I probably would have jumped on it, but that wasn't an option back when I bought my rifle. The ADL was still about $150 more w/o scope.
If I was shopping for a youth rifle, I'd probably buy this ADL and find some old 700 stock to cut down for the new few years...then put the original back on when he/she got bigger. |
RE: Question on Youth Rem. model 710
TRUE! It is on the way out to be replaced with the SPS. Thats why you get one now! killer deals on out standing rifles!! i dont even look at the 710. Take xd 9's advice. get on e-bay and find a stock to cut, then when he grows, put the original back on. Oh and BTW a 30.06 with the limbsaver kicks (felt recoil) the same as the 243 without one!!! I'd go with the bigger gun. Just my 2c
