ORIGINAL: Red Lion Marlin makes the best leverguns going, bar none. I have a Win. .30-30 "Ranger" which I bought NIB from the 50's era from an old lady that my wife knew. |
RE: marlin 30-30
This Winchester "Ranger"is from the 50's era and the materials arebetter quality than todays, but agreed, the Marlin is Hard to beat!
I was referring to post-Eisenhower/post-cold war/the wall coming down time frame for best. |
RE: marlin 30-30
I was at the range over this past weekend sighting the scope on my Marlin 336a. Well, there is something to be said about not using a bore sight. You go through a lot more ammo :D
Anyhow, I did have a lot of fun. I must have run over 70+ rounds through that puppy and enjoyed every minute of my it. I was using the standard winchesters and remingtons, but would really like to try Hornandy's lever evolution. |
RE: marlin 30-30
i hunted with one for a few years but what i did was put a 4x scope on it, it was perfect for that little gun, its a very efficient gun
