howdy, i have an older model mossberg 500a and for the life of me cannot find a sling swivel for this shotgun. If anyone knows of a manufactorer that carriers a sling swivel attachment for this please help me out.

How does a 500A vary from a normal 500? I got mine at walmart, I am sure brownells or someone like that carries one though.

Oh, it's the tactical model. Didin't know that.
If you don't figure it out you can check out Shotgunworld. They have a tactical shotgun forum. I am positive someone there can tell you what you need to do to put a sling on that baby. Paul |
RE: mossberg 500a
i have emailed uncle mikes with no response as of yet. The tactical gun is not mine. I is a 12-ga pump (very old atleast 35 years old) barrel lenght is about 20" or so and i can shoot up to 3" shells. When you extend the pump out under there it says mossberg 500A?
it looks something like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mossberg_500 in regards to the caps for the sling at the end of the pump. I have one that screws into the magazine, kinda looks like a bolt, where most newer models have a cap that just screws out..this is the problem i have found in finding a sling for it.. any advice would be appreciated if you guys no of any web sites i can check that may have it...cabelas, basspro, and other major ones i have not found one on.. thanks |

RE: mossberg 500a
is the barrel lug drilled and tapped either on the center of the locking bolt or at the bottom of the lug? heres a picture with arrows pointed to where the barrel might be drilled and tapped for swivel mounting. if your gun is not drilled and tapped in these positions you will need to have it drilled and tapped in one of those spots or get the Uncle Mikes conversion set #'s 18102 and 18105
