Good choice. Good cartridge spacing!
Since you already have the 30-06 and 7-08and the 12 gauge in models of your own choosing, thenmoving to the 243 and expanding the breadth and versatility of your rack of rifles is indeed the better move IMHO.
Now all you may need (or you may be "done" depending on where you are headed) is something down on the light varmit/practicing/plinking end like a 223 and something on the upper end like a 338OR 375 and you'll have something few folks ever put together, i.e.a handful of rifles that allow you the complete abilityto match the tool to any hunting mission in NA without compromise.
