Default Mossberg?? Remington 870??

MY uncle is selling me a shotgun reasonably soon (before nov.15) and he has several models, One is a mossberg 12 ga with 2 barrels one slug barrel and one smooth bore regular barrel. ONe is a remington 870 12ga with just on barrel both are 200bucks which one would be better for my money? Thanks in advance guys

Mossberg unless you want a gun whose trigger assembly consists of recylced beer can parts.

I much prefer the 870 design. They are a strong well proven gun. I've had a few problems with the Mosberg 500 series guns.

Mossberg. I wouldn't trade mine for any number of 870's.

Remington, the Mossberg is a 870 wannabe. $200 for an 870 is a really good deal. There is no shortage of 870 slug barrels out there for around $100.

Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms... who's bringing the chips?

I would go with the Remington 870. The Remington has been around for a long time and has been proven to be reliable. The Remington has the double locking bars. Not sure about the Mossberg. Both are good guns, just Remington has a slight edge IMHO.... Ruger Redhawk

Rem 870. I have had mine for 30 years , still works great. Plus it has a lot less parts than the Mossberg to put back together after cleaning it.

Which 870 is it...is it the Express, or the Wingmaster......2 3/4, or 3 inch. Either way, the 870 is the way to go. If you want a good club, pick the Mossberg.
