Ant thoughts on stoeger shotguns?
 

I was looking for a new waterfowler and the desk dude was really pushing a stoeger auto loader. He says they use Benneli's Intera system (which really caught my ear). And they come w/5 choke tubes for 350.00??? Does any one shoot one?

I really like mine. It is the best shotgun that I've owned. I've taken 5 turkeys with mine. After you run a bunch of turkey loads through it, it will cycle the very lightest skeet loads flawlessly. I've never had a miss feed. It is very light and extremely easy to clean because of the inertia system.

In my opinion there is no better bang for the buck shotgun out there.

I bought one new this spring, and had trouble with it cycling. But, i did some research on the net and found that sometimes tightening the spring in the forearm helps, and it did the trick. I like mine so far, but have not got to shoot it much though.

I was hunting goose with a good friend who just purchased a double barrelled stoeger(condor) from Dick's sporting goods. On his fifth shot the side of the barrell blew out and my buddy had to be rushed to the hospital with lots of stitches, but luckily all of his fingers. We sent the gun to Stoeger and explained the whole situation in great detail. They sent us the gun back and claimed it was all because of user error and they could offer us no help for us or the gun. Sounds like a crock to me, but this happened last year and my friend was out of luck and really pissed off. I really liked the gun, I helped him pick it out, I guess we both were wrong. I won't look at another Stoeger, I'm sure some are nice and good shooters, but customer service likethat doesn't deserve my hard earned dollar.

Uff da! I am sorry to hear what he went through. That kind of customer service is the sort of thing that encourages legal action when there is injury, and we have so much of that in sporting arms. Glad he did not lose anything. Take Condors off my list.

I do not shoot them, but always beware of a gun that is 1/2 to 1/3 the price of the norm. It is cheaper for a reason. True you can get good buys at reasonable prices, but very seldom in the gun industry do you get more than you pay for, from my experience.

That is surprising. I had a problem with the Turkey choke not patterning very well and they immediately without question sent me out a new one. I'm really surprised about that story. What did they claim was the user error? I'm curious because other than using a slug or something like that how can you have user error on a side by side.

No explanation, all it said was reason for damage: user error on the sheet they sent him when he got the gun back. We were using steel shot for goose, nothing out of the ordinary.

What are you wanting to spend? If money was not a real issue, I'd buy a Beretta Extrema, or a Browning Gold. If you shop around, sometimes you can find these guns after the season is over that guys have traded in and were only used for one year. I've seen some pretty good buys on the used ones that looked brand new with out a scratch. Like anything in this world, you get what you pay for. I've been shooting Beretta's for years. Good luck.:D

Berettas are waaaay out of my price range. I was originally looking for a cheap pump to use for waterfowling. But a semi-auto would be bitchen! That gun is looking pretty good to me. I just dont want something thats going to jam in the field.
