RE: Ant thoughts on stoeger shotguns?
I've never had trouble with mine and I know of others on this forum that swear by them. I don't know what happened to the above mentioned shotgun but mine is flawless. I have the Stoeger 2000 24" in Max-4.

RE: Ant thoughts on stoeger shotguns?
I have the Stoeger P-350 pump and love it. It handles all 12 ga shells from 2 3/4 to 3 1/2. A reliable, solid, and inexpensive gun that does the job every time.

RE: Ant thoughts on stoeger shotguns?
Was your friend using reloads? It has been my experience that 99.999% of the time when there is a serious malfunction such as you describe it has been caused by reloads. For what that is worth about a year ago I was shooting on trap 5 when the young guy next to me on 4 had a kaboom. He was using a Beretta OU trap gun. It looked as if he had almost blown his thumb off. They found that he double charged the shell when reloading, it exceeded the rated chamber pressure and boom. It can happen to the best shotgun out there.
Stoegers are cheaper becuase they are made by some poor communist that will perform skilled labor for $0.50 a week![:@] They are reguarded as strong / well built shotguns. The fitment is usually very good but the finish leaves a little to be desired, but for the money fair. They are generally made in Turkey (Ottoman Empire ;)) Stoger is an underling of Beretta who owns more gun companies than I can recall right now. |
