Tar-Hunt..First 3shot 100yd group
#1
As some folks here may know, I purchased a used Tar-Hunt RSG Mountaineer 20ga rifled shotgun in the spring. Apparently the previous owner had attempted to adjust the trigger pull weight without taking the neccesary time to do it properly. This resulted in a striped screw head, and a gun that arrived with a trigger pull weight of 4.75lbs. I immediately setout to have the trigger repaired, but not without first taking at least one range trip. During that trip I sighted in the gun a touch high at 50 with the expectation of returning in a few weeks to do a 100yd sight in. At that time also found the Winchester Partion slugs to look very promising...
Also as reported here I ran into a huge delay when the triggersmith was involved in a auto accident and was hospital in critical condition.
Well, I finally got the trigger back about a week.(and boy is it sweet...). In any case I finally got a chance to get to the range this weekend...All I can say is.... Holly.$*@**!
I started right off at 100yds...
Picture #1...is the first shot taken with setup at 100yds! (remember I had previously sighted it in high at 50yds on my previous range trip)
After a few more shots I was ready to take my first 3 shot group at 100yds...
Picture #2....shots 5,6,7 on the day...
The pictures tell the rest of the story....
...Unbelievable!!!

You just had to show those targets, didn't you? Where can I get one of these, and what is the general price range? Thanks..........

Very impressive, especially shooting from sticks! I can't imagine getting better groups shooting from a solid rest or sandbags.
How about some 150 yard shots?
Good Hunting,
