Montrose County CO SD = Glocks...I can't remember what model and cal., but do know that I'll NEVER own a Glock. Little brother just had his service weapon blow up in his face at the range. Serveral other members of the dept. have had similar experiences with their Glocks.
Strange, I never heard that one. Do you know what caliber / model?

I would like to hear more about this "exploding Glock" incident. If you don't want to post it, feel free to PM me. Thanks.

Did you ever see the video of the guy who shot himself in the foot with a Glock in front of a classroom full of kids. What a moron. It wasn't any fault of the gun, he was just an idiot. I just really don't like the safety integrated into the trigger. Glock always shoot great and never jam but I think an H&K is a much better choice.

I always love it on this page when people come on with a wild and exciting story and backs it up with "its happened several times", and its usually by police or military. Pretty good story.

I haven't talked to him in a few weeks. Next time I do, I'll get the details on model and caliber.

Texas Rangers Carry Kimber 1911's 45 ACP.
Customs and Border Patrol are switchimg over to the H&K P2000 here pretty Quick.

Texas HWY Patrol carry the Sig. 357 Auto.

Thats all that I know of here in my part of the world.

Well up here in Canada here are a few:

Vancouver PD: Beretta 96D
All the other city forces in BC: Glock Model 22's
Calgary and Edmonton Police Services : Glock Model 22's
RCMP Smith and Wesson 9mm's, for the life of me I can't remeber the model, but Emergency Response Teams are going back to Sig's

I thought it would be a good idea to start a post on what sidearms or other guns are issued to military, law enforcement and Federal agencys.
When choosing a gun you can see what they carry and use it as a reference since they spent a good buck on testing for it.

Syracuse Police - S&W .45 acp model 4546
Onondaga county Sheriff's - Glock model 21 .45 acp
NY State police - Glock 17 9 mm (I heard they are switching to Glock Model 22 .40 Cal)

FBI - Glock Model 22 or 23 .40 cal
US Marshals - Glock model 22 .40 Cal (I have seen them carrying custom 1911's also)

Army - Beretta 92 9 mm
Madison County NY Sheriffs Dept - Glock .45 ACP.

US military Special OPS - going back to the .45 ACP, as are a number of
US Army units- as soon as they select a replacement for the Italian Peashooter.....

Here is a pic of a Glock KB. It happens a lot more than people think. I personally know of three Glocks that went KB. One family member, and two good friends.
