Nice rifle. To me a 'rare' savage rifle is like a 'rare' chevy cavlier, nothing that I'm all that excited about.:D

I used to be that way until the accutrigger came on the market. I have a nice German Mark V Weatherby .270 wbymag that is beautiful to look at but won't hold a candle to my Savage accutriggers in the accuracy dept. I also have a Browning Safari pre-69 bull bbl 22.250 that is in mint condition...beautiful gun ...won't shoot MOA groups though. The same holds true with a Rem BDL custom deluxe .222 that I recently purchased NIB. I have reached the stage with my shooting that accuracy above everything is what matters. It just so happens that Savage has started to make their guns look nice too besides be great shooters.You shoot MOA and it gets addictive

I've got a Savage model 16 in 270 wsm that is a great shooter. I found those laminatestocks on Midway last year but they were sold out and back ordered.....for6 months they were back ordered. I called Savage on 4 different occasions and talked to 4 different people about purchasing a laminate stock from them. Each time I was told Savage did not sale a laminated stock for sporter weight barrels. So, they must be somewhat hard to find and by the way Midway sells them, there mustbe afairly decent demand for them.
