wolf or cabelas bulk
#1
I am going p-dog hunting and I am wondering if I should get the cabelas bulk ammo for a .223 (500 rounds) for about 150 bucks or the wolf ammo (500 rounds) for about 70 bucks. I dont care if it isnt exactly perfect just some thing for p-dogs, But I also dont want crap.

I’m a very picky person, I love Cabela’s, and could spend copious amounts of cash at the store, but I tend to favor Federal Cartridge Co for all of my ammo needs. I’ve never tried anything else. I think I would crumble into little bits if I did.

I would say it depends on what shoots better from your gun. I am like the above. I find an ammo my rifles like and I stick with it. I have never had good luck with bulk ammo any way.
I don't care what I am shooting at, when I pull the trigger I want to hit where I am aiming. And I want the correct bullet for the job. P dogs and woodchucks get ballistic tips with me. Unless I am trying to crack one with a muzzle loader or slug gun

I value my guns too much to shoot junk or cheap ammo in them. If I were you I would get remanufactured Black Hills ammo .22350 gr VMAX for $18 for 50. This ammo is 1st class accurate and will shoot flies at 100 yds in my guns.

i use cabela's bulk 223 in mymini14 no problems at all. it's way more accurate than the surplus ball i got. but ain't no way i could use that outfit fer PD's so i dunno if it's any good in a bolt/rifle.. that wolf bulkis steel cased it might be fine; but i wouldn't put in one a my good bolt/rifles. the blk hills $18 fer 50 sounds like a good deal ta me; i been readin hardcore's posts fer awhile from another forum. if he say's it shoots flies i'd try it.
early
PS i got some wolf gold label ordered fer my -06 but it'll be a couple years b4 i try it. its supposed ta be good. i'll see.

I like the 45 gr winchester varmint load. In my 223 it shoots consistantly into 1/2-3/4" at 100 yds and shooting silhouettes at 300 yds went 18 for 18. Run you about $12 for 40 at Walmart and you get to keep the brass for reloading.
